Homework 2 不動
Strength 1. Moderate voice I think the moderate voice is the first step to capture the audience's attention. Even though I was extremely nervous when I am on the stage, I try to adjust my voice to the whole audience to make sure that they can hear what I said clearly. 2. Preparation I will do many searching in advance, organize all the material, and then practice my speech as much as possible. I will try to remember my speech in my mind first because it will help me deliver my speech more fluently and then try to speak it out in my own room. 3. Being optimistic To overcome my nervousness I always tell myself that even though maybe I will make mistakes on the stage, I will forget my content of the speech, my audience seems uninterested in my speech, my performance is not the same as what I expect, at least I try my best and it is the process of preparing speech that matters most to me. Weakness 1. Nervousness I am the kind of person who easily gets very nervous. Sometimes nervousness can let me do my job well but lots of times I let the nervousness overcome me and the nervousness will cause shaking voice, stammer and fast speaking speed. 2. Lack of speaking fluency Sometimes when I make some grammar mistakes I will pause for seconds or even minutes and think about a better way to deliver my speech. During the pause the audience will easily distract and I will feel more nervous and less confident when I continue my speech. 3. Lack of extended vocabulary to use During my speech I find it hard to find a precise word to convey what I want to say. It causes I have to use more sentences and gestures to help my audience understand and those things will make my speech not dense enough and will make a lot of pause too. 4. Having serious face expression When I am on the stage, I put too much emphasis on the content that I am going to say and on my tune and volume of my speech. The things that are mentioned above take all of my energy and make me have serious face expression all the time. 5. Unable to interact with my audience I was too fearful to forget my content of speech so I will ignore how my audience feels and cannot adjust my speech to the audience. Sometimes I even ignore the eye contact to the audience and instead look at the back wall as if I were talking to the wall. |

Summary description of key audience characteristics From my observation on the class, I conclude that most audience members are similar to each other and to me because we are from the same university, National Taipei University , and most of us are around 20 years old. These show that we have a common view and perspective on things. There are more women than men and most of us come from middle-class families. B. Subject-specific data 1. The average audience member's knowledge of the subject is likely to be moderate because some TV programs or news already report something about junk food. 2. The average audience member's attitude toward my subject is likely to be positive because most of them already know that junk food is not good for our body. 4. My initial credibility with the audience is likely to be low because most of them don't know I have preference on junk food and I almost eat them everyday. C. Summary Although most of my classmates know that junk food is not good for our health, they don't really know the possible diseases that they will have if they ingest the excess of junk food.
