Topic	Wisdom in Baseball
General goal	I want my audience to know that baseball is a game not only of power but full of wisdom as well.
Specific goal	I want my audience to know three main technical terms in the ball games.
Thesis statement	The wisdom in the ball games shows in three main technical terms: type of pitch, batting strategy, and defense.
Outline	I. Type of pitch A. Every great pitcher has more than one master pitch which can almost blind every batter. B. Though pitchers do not have a great slider or sinker, he can easily strike batters out by using good pitching tactics. C. Common pitch types include fastball, slider, sinker, change-up, etc, and each of these has an unique track. II. Batting strategy A. Batting strategy is a trick that the batter received from the couch when man on base situation. The purpose is to increase the opportunity to get runs. B. Common strategy such as hit-and-run, run-and-hit, steal base, and push bunt are frequently used in Asian baseball which is so called"small ball." III. Defense A. Statistics is considered the biggest part of the game. According to the batting statistics, pitchers and fielders can take different strategy against the batter. B. Intentional walk, fielders in or out, and defense shift are common strategies of defense. The purpose is to avoid potential run-batted-in and sometimes to plan a double play.

I. Strength

A. Pronunciation
Professor Zuo once said that I have a good pronunciation when speaking on the stage.
I am sure that I am not good enough, but I became more confident to do a speech with her words.
I always try my best to speak slow and clear, and make sure my audience can undertand my words.
B. Fearlessness
I am not afraid of making mistakes on the stage.
If I did something wrong on the spot, I can handle it well and make the speech goes on like nothing had happened.
If my preparation was well done, my speech will be powerful.
C. Proper Eye Contact
I believe that having a good eye contacts is one way to show that the speaker is credible, so I usually have a good eye contacts with my audience.

II. Weakness

A. Nervousness Makes Everything Wrong
When I was too nervous, there is no any strength in my speech.
Usually caused by the pressure of teachers and my lack of preparation.
B. Poor English
Due to my nervousness, I will make a lot of grammar mistakes when speaking in stage.
C. Voice
The tune of my voice is like loose strings, and my sound is too small.

III. Analyzing Your Audience

1. Summary description of key audience characteristics:

From these data, I conclude that most audience members are similar to each other and to me. We are all student at NTPU. Most of us are around twenty years old, which suggests that we have a common generational view. Since we are all patriotic Taiwanese, most of us know Chien-Ming Wang and Chinese Taipei Baseball Team. Most of us like to do exercise and watch ball games in leisure times. Although many of them may already know what baseball looks like, most of us are willing to know more about it.

2. Subject-Specific Data:

• a. The average audience member's knowledge of the subject is likely to be moderate because my audience members mostly had watched baseball games before.
• b. The average audience member's interest in this subject is likely to be high because they heard these terms on TV before, and they are eager to know about the details.
• c. The average audience member's attitude toward my subject is likely to be positive because they already know some names and teams such as Chien-Ming Wang, C.C.Sabathia, and Chin-Feng Chen.
• d. My initial credibility with the audience is likely to be medium because this subject could be attracted to those don't like sports.
